The location is convenient for trains and shops, but the room was extremely small. There was nowhere to open our luggage, so we had to put it on the bed whenever we weren’t sleeping. It’s really only suitable for one person, not an ideal room for a couple.

The convenient location in ximending was the only upside. What we got looked nothing like the photos on the booking sites. The room was cramped and small, with a sewer and mildew smell so strong it was almost hard to breathe. The toilets were dirty and damp, and the odor spread through the room. Thin walls let street and neighbouring room noise through clearly and disturbed our sleep. The air conditioner barely worked and kept breaking down every hour. We reported it to the front desk several times, and they acknowledged the fault but did nothing to fix it during our three nights. There was a cat in the lobby, which was cute, but it yowled for food through the night. Please feed the poor thing. I hated the stay and felt scammed paying even USD$80 for a hostel-like experience. Stay away.

The late check-in worked well, even at about 3:30 in the morning, since reception is open 24 hours, and the staff were courteous. We booked three windowless superior rooms through Klook for a week, so it helped to remember this is a budget place. The rooms were dusty, especially without windows, and cleaning only happened every two days. The lobby floor also smelled of food from the Mala Hotpot and yakiniku restaurant next door. You have to carry luggage up one floor because the elevator starts on the second. The location is the big plus: right by Ximending Night Market and Mala Hotpot, near Exit 6, Don Quijote and the famous milky donuts. There’s a FamilyMart in the building and plenty of other convenience stores nearby, plus free water and coffee. It was an okay base since we were out most of the day and mainly just slept there. Cleanliness could be better. If you’re a budget traveler who isn’t too sensitive, it may suit you.

The location is great and the staff are friendly, but the room wasn’t clean and housekeeping only comes every two days. The internet was unreliable too. There’s also a flight of stairs to manage with your bags, since the elevator is on level 2.
