Eastin Taipei Hotel

The location is a big plus, right along busy Da'an road, with Sogo, well-known places to eat, and lots of beauty clinics nearby. We also had a view of Taipei 101 from our room. For two people, the room size worked well, with two soft single beds and one soft pillow on each. The shower pressure was okay, and we liked the higher Japanese-style toilet seat. The bathroom products were Locatine. There’s a small gym, but it has no free weights, just some old cardio machines and a broken multi-purpose weight machine. The hotel offers both dorm-style accommodation and regular private rooms. I can only speak for the regular room, which I was happy with. It was clean and comfortable, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a centrally located place for the price.

We’d stay again for the location and value. It’s right by all our favorite restaurants and bars, and the metro is just below for going farther afield. It was quieter than we expected, though Saturday night was loud. There’s free filtered hot and cold water, plus free coffee that wasn’t great. We also watched the Australian Open on the free TV channels. The gym has a bike and treadmill, but no weights. The main drawback was the WiFi, which kept dropping in and out and was poor overall. If you don’t have phone service here, you’ll struggle.

The hotel has a handy laundry area, with washing for 40 TWD and drying for 10 TWD per 10 minutes. The room was nice, and the staff were capable and helpful. The location is excellent, right in the middle of Taipei. The internet was a little unstable, the walls are thin, and there are no bidet showers in the toilets. Still, it’s a good hotel.

Staff were great, and the location is really good. For the price and where it is, I think it’s good value. The room had odd wiring and hardly any outlets, and the switches didn’t properly turn off the lights. WiFi was awful, slow, and kept cutting out. Maybe I just had bad luck with it.
