A nice base for seeing local life in Taiwan. The lobby was peaceful, and there were multilingual signs and maps showing places to go. Staff were welcoming. Our room was tidy and clean, with no bugs or mold. We could sometimes hear people in the next room, but we were out most of the day, so it was fine.

Good-quality breakfast, and a central location that works well for getting around. Trains and buses are close enough to walk to. The hotel is budget-friendly and suits solo travelers and couples alike.

The bed was comfortable and didn’t leave me with a backache. Ferrary is handily located near XiMenDing, and the hotel amenities are decent.

There are shops and attractions nearby, and the breakfast was great. The staff on the second floor were polite and easy to approach. The building looks old, the room has just one door lock, and you can hear conversations from next door because it isn’t soundproof. Front desk staff always seemed busy and grumpy. They would help if I asked for a bottle of water or coffee powder, but I never felt welcome, like I was interrupting them. A smile and a more accommodating attitude would have helped.

Ximending Night Market is only about 12 minutes away, and the room was clean and pleasant. They supplied towels, shampoo, shower gel, two pillows, plus two bottles of mineral water and 3-in-1 coffee each day. Wi-Fi was great, and the TV had HBO and Cinema in English. I did have an unpleasant moment in the dining area. As I was about to put my used spoon and fork in the container, a rude busboy abruptly took them away before I could dispose of them properly. The staff need to learn to treat customers with respect.
