The manager’s reply is fabricated. I never forced my way into a shower. A staff member gave me permission to use the 12th-floor shower and told me to come back the next day, then the manager contradicted that and described my polite request as forceful. I also don’t think asking for a toilet to be cleaned was unreasonable when one stall was out of order and the other was filthy. That’s basic hygiene. Bringing up “authorities” and “recordings” felt like an attempt to bully me. I’d welcome the CCTV footage being posted, because it would show no aggression, just a guest asking for basic service. After several nights, the manager suddenly wouldn’t let me extend my stay. Staff first said there were renovations on the floor, which wasn’t true, and later claimed the hostel was fully booked despite availability showing online. I felt they were misleading me. When I asked to use showers on another floor because those on mine were outside the hostel and open to anyone in the building, the manager and staff were disrespectful and humiliating instead of handling it professionally. The dishonesty and lack of basic respect were unacceptable. I strongly don’t recommend staying here, and hope management reconsiders how it treats guests. Stop lying to cover up poor management and hostility.

It’s in a quiet area, a bit away from the main city, but still convenient. There’s a night market, a few bars and restaurants, and convenience stores downstairs, so you’re not missing much. Free simple breakfast is available too, which is a nice win for travelers.

I got a room with windows, which was really nice, though it was smaller than I expected. The bathroom smelled a little when I first went in. The stay was fine overall, and the location and area were nice. It was easy to walk to Ximen.

The location alone would make me recommend this hostel. The rooms were clean, the staff paid attention to guests, and everyone staying there was friendly. A great place.
