The staff at reception were genuinely lovely and even gave us soap and shampoo, though they said the government didn’t allow the hotel to provide them. Bring your own toothpaste. The price was low, so it might be fine for a night or two, but I’d look elsewhere for a longer stay. My room on the 9th floor had no windows and smelled musty. The carpets looked as if they hadn’t been changed or vacuumed since the 70’s, and there was hair from a previous guest near the pillow despite the bed being made. The room had an old box TV, and there was no wifi.

Even if it cost less than 1000NT, I wouldn’t stay here again. It looks like a haunted house, and the service was very poor and unfriendly. The room was old and dirty, with no power and no TV. I wouldn’t recommend it for couples, parents with children, or a group of friends. Even on your own, a youth hostel would be a much better choice. Is this really a 3★ hotel? I think 2★ places are better.

We had a comfortable bed and friendly staff, so I wouldn’t put too much stock in the hotel’s bad reputation. The building looks old, the hallway doesn’t smell great, and our room was a little dirty. It’s a budget place without luxuries, but we booked one night and would have stayed again if we’d spent longer in Taipei.

I wanted to leave a positive review, but that wouldn’t have been honest. The location is handy, within walking distance of the Mtr line, a night market, and plenty of convenience stores. It’s also unusually cheap. We knew there’d be no TV, wifi, or fridge and expected some rough edges, but the place was worse than we thought. The property is very old, seems poorly maintained, and feels spooky. The carpet was damp and worn. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights, and we both got bitten by bed bugs, with marks all over our arms and legs. This place needs renovation. If the owner can’t see that, online reviews can’t fix the problem.

The room had enough equipment, and I slept comfortably. The location was good and the price very reasonable. There was a misunderstanding, so he spoke in a strong tone, but he still treated us kindly. Thank you very much.
