Fun Inn Taipei Hostel

You’ve got food options and coffee shops right outside Fun Inn Taipei, plus a 7-Eleven and FamilyMart only steps away. Taipei Main Station and Ximending are both around a 10-minute walk. It was an easy, budget-friendly base for getting around and sorting out everyday needs.

The location was a real plus, close to everything. I went in January, and the price seemed reasonable for Taipei. The room was good enough, though I wish the bathrooms and shared items like the hairdryer had been cleaned more thoroughly. The housekeeper was friendly, and the front desk woman was nice too.

I slept better than I expected, thanks to a comfortable pillow and blanket. Shampoo and shower gel are provided, but bring a towel or pay a small rental fee. The check-in instructions were easy to follow. There are a few stairs at first, then a lift. The location worked well for walking to Ximending and Taipei Main Station, with convenience stores and local food nearby. For the price, it met my expectations as a reliable hostel, though it’s not a luxury hotel. It’s a busy place, so there can sometimes be a slight room smell, manageable with air freshener or your own supplies. Lockers fit one medium-sized suitcase. Just keep in mind this is a 2-star hostel.

You’re mainly paying for the location and price here, so don’t expect much beyond that. There aren’t many showers or toilets, and the room can smell bad, though I know that may depend on who your roommate is. I also noticed mold and stains on the walls and curtains. It didn’t feel like a place to socialize with other travelers, and towels aren’t provided, so bring your own. The low price may make up for the drawbacks, which is why I still rate it highly.
