Holo Hostel

The lady boss and her staff were warm and friendly. They were accommodating when I asked to bathe both before check-in and after checkout. I stayed five days in a shared room during a Taipei road trip years ago, in one of several room types spread across floors of a tall building opposite Taipei station. For the price, don't expect much: it was a single air-conditioned room with a shared bathroom, and a simple breakfast of bread or porridge with sides in the main check-in and pantry area.

Our family really enjoyed the special Christmas meal, spaghetti and salad, and the free buffet breakfast. The green tea was superb, and the staff were very nice. Holo Hostel is also close to Taipei MRT and the mall. Thank you!

The room looked much better in the pictures. The building being old was fine, but it wasn't clean, and the bed was so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor. The shower wasn't very hot either. I've stayed at another hostel for the same price with a much better environment. If you're considering this one, Backpackers Inn may be better value.

The view from the 22th floor is beautiful, but my impression of the hostel is still very poor. My friend and I stayed for one day, and early in the morning we were startled to find cockroaches crawling over my friend's face. The staff said they would contact me to apologize, but they never did, and I didn't get an email about what happened either. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
