The showers were fantastic, with strong water pressure, water as hot as you like, and rainfall showerheads. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and staff were friendly and helpful. They were also glad to bring another coffee when asked. It's close to the night market and plenty of other things, so stay here if you need a place in this area. There are several Wi-Fi networks, with the codes posted around the phone.

I didn't see the rooms. The lobby looks modern, but the entrance seemed a bit dodgy, and the hotel sits above the night market. The subway is less than 250 m away. At that price, you may get what you pay for, so I guess you have to weigh what's important to you.

The service was great, and they upgraded me to a double room so I'd have more space for my luggage and other things. My stay was pleasant, except that opening the windows and glass doors on the balcony brought in a strong food smell from the night market.

The place was clean, and there's a laundry room. For cleaning, you can request what you'd like done. They leave the things on your bed alone, clean the bathroom, and take out the garbage. Food is complimentary, and there are free drinks in the room. The fridge is really more of a cooler and doesn't keep things very cold, so I wouldn't bring food that needs refrigeration.

The rooms and bathroom were spacious and newly renovated, and the rate was reasonable, below Taipei's average. We stayed three nights in a double room at MACCHI HOTEL, and after trying several Taipei hotels, this was our favorite for the price, location, rooms, and service. It’s near a night market and a day market, with an MRT station next door. We’d definitely come back.
