Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The interior is beautiful, with thoughtful design and storytelling, and the hotel feels modern and chic. During my four-night stay it felt like having a butler at home: they tidied my clothes and belongings as well as cleaning. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was good, and I couldn't find anything to complain about. There's free laundry and more Starbucks credits than I could spend. It's one stop from Taipei main station, with lots of Taiwan breakfast choices nearby. The price was competitive, too.

Xiandao Temple metro station is right next to the hotel, and it's one stop to Taipei Main Station or two to Xi Meng Ding. The place is well maintained, and the lobby had a really lovely scent. We felt at home thanks to the warm welcome from the staff. Our room was well equipped, with comfortable beds and complimentary bottled water and coffee. The toilet and bathroom are separate, so nobody has to wait for the toilet while someone showers. Great value.

The MRT station right outside made getting to the airport, other parts of the city, and even the High Speed Rail very convenient. It's just one stop from Taipei Main Station. The staff were a real standout. Marco, Vincent, and the reception and concierge team helped us ship souvenirs, find our way around, make calls, and book excursions with places that didn't speak English. Everyone else was friendly and attentive, often anticipating what we needed. Thanks to our Hilton status, we could wait for our room in a comfortable lounge after arriving early, and had a nice chat with another couple there. The vending machines were fully stocked with more than the usual snacks, including ramen and beauty face masks. Laundry machines made it easy to leave with clean clothes and pack less. The attached Starbucks was a surprise perk: before 9:30 a.m., it's reserved for hotel guests. The modern space was comfortable and beautifully lit, and the Starbucks staff worked hard each morning and gave service that felt better than what I usually experience at the brand.

I spent two nights here before my cruise, and it was Uber-close to the places I wanted to visit. The hotel is a gem, tastefully decorated and appointed. I especially loved the heated toilet bidet. The staff were wonderful and helpful with requests. I know some people complain about there being no hotel restaurant, but the attached Starbucks was perfect for me, with lots of tasty food. Guests get private access in the morning, and the roomy, quiet space was relaxing for ordering a la carte. I received a food credit and didn't even use it all, though I ordered quite a bit. I highly recommend this hotel!
