I only needed somewhere to retreat for 3h during an 18h stopover in Taipei, and for about NZ$ 35 it had what I wanted. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and noise wasn't much of an issue. It was small and seemed geared toward short stays, with no closet. There was even a bidet toilet and heated seat, which felt funny on a day with a real feel temperature of 37C.

The room was dirty when I arrived, with a splatter of some unknown substance on the wall, and the noise was awful. They say the rooms are “soundproofed,” but they really aren't. I tried to stick it out anyway, until cockroaches showed up in my room and I left early. They refused to refund any of the unused stay. Avoid this grimy, scummy hotel. I regret staying there.

The big jacuzzi in my room was nice, and breakfast was included, though the local food choices were very limited. The dragon fruits were really good. Cleanliness was a little questionable, even though they brought fresh linen daily and refilled the water, coffee, and tea. The wifi kept disconnecting and wasn't stable.

The room was old and smelled when I checked in, and the hotel felt overpriced for an inconvenient location. The lifts are shared with other hotels or storage areas, and staff use them for deliveries, including smelly seafood. On top of that, the corridor calling lights are switched off after 10 p.m. This place just doesn't make sense.

The night desk gentleman was superb. Our room was nice, and having a bathtub was great after a day of walking. There's a treadmill and free washers and dryers. The milk tea is delicious 😋
