Looks nice, with a soft bed and lots of space for a very affordable price. There are also plenty of places to eat around outside.

The air conditioner’s position made the room temperature uneven. Getting accommodation issues sorted was also difficult because there’s no front desk and the contact options are Line and WeChat. After two nights, the trash still hadn’t been collected. I cleaned it myself, then found there were no clean bags to use. The bathroom pipe was clogged, and when I asked staff to clear it, they left the wire they’d used behind and said we’d have to deal with it ourselves if it clogged again.

After I couldn’t find the hotel, I asked a man at a nearby shop for help and showed him where I was trying to go. He called the number on Google Maps and spoke with someone from the hotel. About ten minutes later, a person who seemed to be the manager arrived and said they’d double-booked me, then offered another room. They took me to an apartment about 300 meters from Taipei Station. It had a toilet and shower, but the washing machine was right next to the shower, which made showering difficult. The room hadn’t been cleaned, and four bath towels were hanging on a rack. It felt dirtier than a guesthouse and like staying in a cheap apartment. The upside was that I felt like a local Taipei resident renting a place. It seemed the manager owned several rooms and rented them to tourists. Since he spoke English to me, I guessed he was just selling cheap lodging to foreigners.
