Green World NanGang Hotel

We booked a deluxe room, which was decent and well maintained, with a pretty big bathroom. The attached jetspray modes in the toilet were a relief for us as Indian tourists. They cleaned the room every day, but changed the bedsheets and towels only once every three days. The big problem was the restaurant staff at breakfast. It’s served until 10 am, and we had finished eating, but our baby needed a few more minutes. The staff were so rude they literally shooed us away. It was absolutely disrespectful. They need to understand hospitality. We’re paying to stay here, and they’re not doing us a favor.

We finally got called back to a room that had been cleaned, but there was still a permanent stain in front of the bathroom. It was hot with the air conditioner off, and although it was cool outside at 21 degrees C, the window wouldn’t slide open. The lock could be unlocked, but the window still wouldn’t open. The hotel WiFi was there, but I couldn’t use the network with room numbers because mine wasn’t included. We arrived at 17:30 after a long day of travel, and the room was still being cleaned. The sheets weren’t done, the cleaner wouldn’t leave, and we had to stand outside waiting. My mother had an appointment and needed to change, so she called the lobby and asked the worker to let us into the filthy room. The sheets were still undone, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed, and it had dark and white water stains. We were allowed in for about 20 minutes before she had to leave. I had to wait in the lobby while the cleaning continued. My ankles had recently been operated on and I couldn’t walk for months. I could barely stand, and having nowhere to rest that late felt awful. I’d even turned down my father back home when he suggested bringing a walking stick. I saw the price on Google Maps, and it wasn’t dirt cheap like I might expect for that service. This isn’t a 600 Taiwan dollars hostel in a rural area, whatever the hotel is trying to tell us.

The rooms were okay, but breakfast was below average. At checkout I’d left behind one of my two room keys, and the front desk woman practically ordered me to go back upstairs and bring it to her. She said she wouldn’t let me check out otherwise. I wouldn’t consider this hotel or any others in the same chain again.

Ellie was really friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and I felt relaxed and happy throughout my stay.
