Hinoen Hotel

The standard double room I booked was spacious and clean, with an automated toilet seat. Soap and shampoo are provided, and the Nespresso capsules in the room were replenished daily. On the B1 floor there’s a shared area with a coffee machine, water dispenser, TV, dining table, and sofas, plus a washer and dryer if you need to do laundry. The hotel is opposite Taipei Main Station and very close to the airport express station. Ximending is about an 8-10 minute walk away, and there’s a bus stop right outside. I usually traveled by bus, which was very convenient. Everything we needed was in the area. We had a great five-night stay, with quick, smooth check-in and checkout at noon, which was a plus. The staff provided great service, and I’d definitely stay here again.

The room had a tub and shower, which was nice for a soak after a long day of walking. The bed was firm and suited me as a back sleeper. The main drawbacks were pillows that were too soft for my taste, noise from traffic at night through the thin window panes, and water pressure and temperature that kept changing. I usually filled the tub instead of showering. I’d definitely visit again, but next time I’d bring my own pillow and earplugs. I stayed at Hinoen Hotel for two nights after arriving at Taipei Main Station. It’s a short 150 m walk from the lift near exit Z1, and check-in was smooth and fuss-free. The concierge provided an order form for iconic food gifts like Chia Te’s pineapple cakes, for a slightly higher fee. They also offered a breakfast set from Fu Hang Soy Milk, which saved us the long queue at the outlet the next day. There was enough floor space to open and pack a suitcase. The vinyl floor was easier to walk on than carpet, and proper slippers and two bottles of water were provided. Three-pin UK plugs by both sides of the bed made it easy to charge phones overnight. The basement relaxation lounge had free coffee and water. There are washing machines and dryers in a room behind the concierge. A wash and dry takes about 90 minutes, which is a big benefit, though it was crowded and you had to keep checking on it.

Even though I stayed just one night, the room and service really stood out. The room was super clean, had a smart TV, and the air felt fresh despite being in a very busy area. The desk staff were warm and friendly at both check-in and checkout. They clearly explained the hotel perks and when I could use them. I’d recommend it. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but I did get pictures of the digimon on their desk.

We booked the executive room hoping to sleep well before our long flights, but instead we slept badly and felt exhausted on the flights. There was an unpleasant, slightly moldy smell in the room and even the bedding had it. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the material felt cheap. Worst of all, when one person moved, the whole bed shifted and woke the other person. I’m upset we paid so much for such a bad night’s sleep.
