Hotel Indigo Taipei North by IHG

I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Taipei. The comfortable, relaxing atmosphere makes it easy to return to Hotel Indigo Taipei North. This was my second stay, and as a Platinum member I again asked for a quiet room. The hotel arranged one similar to the room I’d had previously, which I really appreciated, and I was happy to get an upgrade as well. The welcome gift and complimentary drinks were a very nice touch.

We spent just one night at this IHG hotel in Taipei, then moved to Kimpton. That was absolutely the right decision. The hotel itself is fine, but the service was extremely disappointing. We arrived late at night with luggage and a sleeping baby, struggling to open the glass entrance door. Staff were at the front desk with no other customers, saw us clearly, and nobody came to help. The duty manager was especially rude and unprofessional. I’ve never had this kind of communication at a hotel, even a very basic one. As an IHG Diamond member, my status wasn’t recognized. There was no room upgrade or Diamond benefit or incentive. If you’re an IHG member, I strongly suggest Kimpton instead. It has a better location, more welcoming staff, and a far more guest-focused experience. It may cost a little more depending on the dates, but it’s worth it. InterContinental is another much better option than this hotel. If you don’t mind taking a chance and hoping for luck, you might be fine here. But if you don’t want rude, unprofessional behavior to ruin your Taipei visit, I wouldn’t stay.

The Brown line MRT is nearby, and it’s less than a five-minute walk to the Miramar shopping center. Most of the Neihu district’s High Tech companies are also within walking distance. I had a very comfortable seven-night stay on a business trip to Taipei Neihu High Tech area. The bathroom was excellent, with a large, powerful rain shower.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I especially want to mention Meg, who was patient and kind when I needed help fixing a mistake I’d made with my booking. She got everything sorted, so I could enjoy the rest of my time in Taipei. I had an excellent stay at Taipei North Hotel Indigo. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location felt new, clean, and less crowded. I especially liked the attached cafés and the short walk to public transportation. I look forward to staying here again on my next Taipei trip.
