Le Meridien Taipei

We were surprised there wasn’t a bar. We’d hoped to have a drink and unwind at the hotel one evening, and I hadn’t thought to check before booking because that had never happened to me before. The staff and rooms were nice, and Taipei 101 and lots of shopping are within walking distance. The gym and pool area was very nice too.

Shelly and the Front Desk team made us feel welcome and were friendly. The rest of the team were attentive too, including Karen, Evian and othered. Breakfast was amazing, especially the salad selection. The hotel gets the basics right, from safety and property management to cleanliness and customer service. Excellent place in Taipei.

The staff at reception and in the lounge put in a lot of effort to help sort out my luggage after my airline lost track of it during a connection. I’ve stayed here twice now and loved it. The location is amazing, beside the most happening mall and 101, and the lounge is great. It works well for business or leisure. As a Marriott Gold member, I did feel there was no acknowledgement or extra perk, but overall it was a very good stay.

The hotel’s hospitality and service were great, but the room setup made privacy difficult. The bathroom doors slide but leave a gap, so friends and family have to remember to look away when someone’s inside. Room service has to be collected at the door if someone is using the bathroom, and it’s even more awkward if guests or colleagues are visiting. What’s wrong with you guys, is this how you live at home. We had two rooms, a standard and a suite. In one incident, a room service worker walked straight into the room without even knocking.
