The check-out was handled really well. The staff gave me my folio in a nice envelope, and I was able to leave right away. The rooms were quiet, and the ventilation was especially good, so the air felt clean and well conditioned indoors. There are useful kitchen and storage facilities if you have a child, but for a short stay without plans to cook, they may not be much use. The location is convenient too. The room felt expensive for its class. There was visible wear on the wallpaper and around the shower, where several joins between silicone and stone had deteriorated. Some tiles were chipped or missing at the corners. If I’d known about those issues, I might have paid half the asking price. The Wi-Fi was also poor. There was a message on the TV explaining why, but I don’t think that’s appropriate in Taiwan’s high-tech capital.

The staff were polite and quick to respond, and the location is handy, close to Zhongshan subway with plenty of places to eat nearby, including a soya bean and you tiao cafe. After a tiring day shopping around the district, I really liked soaking in the luxurious bathtub. There’s also a refrigerator and freezer, which are great for keeping milk for a baby. The washing machine and dryer are in the toilet, in splendid condition, and detergent is provided daily.

The location in the busy, trendy Zhongshan/ Nanjing district worked well for our month-long visit with relatives. We were glad we chose the larger, nicer room with fewer services instead of a conventional hotel. The one-bedroom residence gave us a huge bathroom, a small kitchen, and loads of storage, which helped us settle in. LF's staff was super helpful. The weak point was the very old tech, worn-out televisions, no NETFLIX access, and spotty internet. The owners could fix that pretty easily.

The bathroom was one of the biggest I’ve had in a hotel at this price. It had a double sink vanity, a tub for two, a separate shower stall, and a Japanese washlet style toilet. The room was spacious and luxurious, with plenty of storage and thorough daily cleaning. With two young children, the in-room washer and dryer was useful, though it’s a combo unit and the dryer took a very long time. My full load still wasn’t dry after 4 hours, even though it washed well. If you want to do laundry in the room, start at least 8 hours ahead. I got the clothes ready for our suitcases by ironing out the remaining moisture with the room iron. We were a family of four, so we paid for an extra bed in our king-bed park view room, which is otherwise meant for a family of three. The 24-hour reception made checking in and out at 5 am easy, and the staff helped arrange a dedicated taxi at the last minute for a half day trip to Jioufen. Breakfast isn’t provided, but there are good restaurants nearby, along with ATMs and large shopping malls. Zhongshan station is convenient for exploring on the red on green subway lines. I’d missed this hotel at first while searching Google for a base for our Taipei family visit. The Mandarin name seemed mysterious to me as a foreigner, but I’m glad my Taiwanese friend suggested it. We felt very pampered and would stay again on our next trip to Taipei.

We booked four rooms for a large family group. They were surprisingly huge, with even bigger bathrooms, lots of chairs, sofas and wardrobe space, plus a small kitchenette with an induction cooker and microwave. There’s also a balcony you can access from the room. Housekeeping was unbelievably prompt. I called for extra towels and they arrived within minutes. The location is fairly convenient, near Zhongshan station. Ningxia Night Market is about a 20-minute walk away, and Raohe Night Market is a few direct stops away. Family Mart, 7-11 and fast food chains are just around the corner. We liked the daily afternoon “tea” in the lobby, with drinks and snacks until 8pm. It isn’t a big spread, but it’s a nice touch. Each room has a washer/dryer, with washing pods supplied daily, and the electronic toilet seats have a bidet. A few things could be better: the bathroom ventilator/warmer didn’t heat the room enough, the water pressure was a little low, and it dropped noticeably if someone ran the sink while the bath was filling. They’d run out of extra memory foam pillows too. We were very pleased with our stay. For family travel, this is a lovely place if you don’t need five-star facilities. We don’t really need a buffet breakfast in Taipei or a pool in winter.
