Green World Flora Main

There’s no hotel restaurant, but a convenience store right next door and plenty of places to eat nearby. Taipei main station is an easy walk away. The rooms were clean and well equipped, the staff friendly and helpful, and the price reasonable for such a good location. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone who doesn’t need a room with a view.

The location and staff were great during my October stay, but I had trouble getting comfortable on the bed. It felt too short: I’m 174 cm tall, and when I lay on my stomach my feet stuck out. The mattress was also so firm I couldn’t sleep well. After two nights, I folded the blanket in half and slept on it for a softer surface. The air conditioning was awkward too. There were only three fixed fan settings, and you couldn’t choose a temperature or change the direction, so it could blow right at your face.

The location and cleanliness were the best parts of this small, dated budget hotel. We spent four nights here, and liked being able to watch Youtube on the TV. The room had slippers, hand and body wash, and bottled water. There are lots of shops and places to eat nearby, and Taipei Main Station is less than a 10-minute walk away. The fried buns next door are worth trying. The aircon has low, medium, and high settings. It felt cold at the desk but pretty hot by the bed. The bathroom is big, though a bidet would improve it. Staff were friendly, but you have to hand in your room key when you go out.

We were able to leave our bags with the front desk after arriving early in the morning, then go explore until check-in at 3 pm. The welcome was warm, and over our two-night stay we got fresh towels and complimentary bottled water each day. Our room had enough space for three people and our luggage, and the TV had a good range of channels. The building isn’t new, but that was fine. It’s about a 17-minute walk to Taipei Main Station, along smooth streets that were easy to roll suitcases on. There’s a 7 eleven downstairs and a famous fresh soy milk place around the corner. For our first visit, I thought it was a good stay. One tip: don’t mix it up with the other Green World hotel nearby, we did that, lol.
