Ximen Airline Hotel

The location is very good, and the room was cozy and clean, though there were old stains on the walls. Wi-Fi was perfect. But we had no hot water at all during our stay, and the water pressure was low. After one night, Agoda’s help center helped us cancel and get a refund. It was overpriced for what it offered. If you just need basic accommodation and don’t mind no hot water, it may be okay, but it wasn’t worth the money for us.

The location is amazing, right outside ahchung mianxian and very close to xingfutang. There are a few ground-level exits that make it easy to take shortcuts around. Still, I honestly don’t think I’ll return. We booked two rooms with windows, but one room’s windows were like this. I might have accepted that and moved on, but the receptionist could tell I was frustrated and called back to ask if I wanted to pay more for LARGER windows. By then I was furious. It felt like a scam, as if they’d given us one 'defective' room so we’d pay to upgrade. The pillows were massive and flat, and the walls were so thin I could follow the neighbours’ whole conversation until after 1 AM. The shower water flow was extremely slow too, so don’t turn it up to maximum.

The king-size superior room was clean and comfortable, and the MRT is only about a minute away. We spent nine days here over Chinese New Year, paying around $120 a night. It’s an older hotel, and finding check-in on the 8th floor took a little effort, but you get what you pay for. I’d definitely recommend it.

The staff were friendly and easy to approach, and after being out all day, I especially enjoyed using the massage chair. Ximending is right outside, with well-known spots only steps away. They brought fresh towels, bottled water, and soda each day, though no coffee. There’s no bidet, and the TV was mostly local channels, apart from CNN.
