We were able to leave our luggage before the 3 PM check-in, which I appreciated. The room had no early check-in privileges, TV, or anything special, just what we needed for a simple night before leaving at 7 AM: a firm queen size bed, a firm twin XL bed, clothing rack, large mirror, fan, lamp, a/c unit, and a side table with a tissue box and hairdryer on top. The room was clean, with hot water and WiFi. The bathroom was a typical wet room with a shower head, sink, and toilet. Rectangular hand towels were provided, and bath towels could be rented for 30NT (or $0.94 USD). “Firm” means hard by American standards. Taiwanese people believe that’s good for your back and posture. No complaints from us. The nearest metro station is a 10-minute walk away, and it’s about 25 minutes on foot to the university. Plenty of restaurants, local eateries, small businesses, and brand name retail and department stores are within walking distance. The neighborhoods have endless alleyways with street food too. Our favorite was the Da-Gou large intestine, vermicelli noodle soup just around the corner. A good overnight stay for three people in April.

The staff were very nice and let us switch out of our tiny, stuffy, moldy room into a bigger one. Unfortunately, that room was moldy too, the beds were worn and uncomfortable, and water dripped from one spot on the ceiling. I can’t recommend this place.

Breakfast was great, and they have laundry service. The place could use a deep clean. Still, it gave me a safe place to sleep and a hot shower, so thanks.

We’re already missing the cozy, home-like comfort of mayrooms. It really felt like a home away from home, and the room, washroom, and amenities were all spotless and well maintained. We were very comfortable there. It was also convenient to have a safe walkway for the 10-minute walk to Metro, making it easy to explore walkable Taiwan. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic stay. Thanks for such a lovely visit. We’ll recommend @mayrooms and can’t wait to come back.
