The staff were kind, and since I got in before noon after a night flight, they let me check in early. I was glad to shower and get some rest before heading out. Getting around from the hotel was easy, and the Japanese style toilet had a bidet. The building feels old, though, and noise carries clearly through the thin room walls. I also didn't like the carpet, which felt unclean. Otherwise, things were okay.

My room was at the far end of the corridor, so noise wasn't an issue for me. The hotel is about a two-minute walk from Taipei Main Station, and I got a free room upgrade at check-in. The room and amenities were good, and the bed was so comfortable I slept for eight hours. Check-in and check-out were quick, and they let us leave luggage in the lobby. I'd recommend it.

We were 13 people sharing five rooms. The rooms were fairly spacious for two or three, clean, and nice, and it was easy to communicate with reception. The location worked perfectly for us, right in the city center with lots of restaurants nearby. Ximending is only one station away. For halal food, Chang Beef is about a ten-minute walk, though the menu is noodles and beef, with no rice.

The rooms and amenities were adequate for what we paid, and check-in and check-out were straightforward. It's a good base for budget travelers wanting to explore Taipei without spending too much on a hotel. Taipei Main Station is nearby, about two or three minutes on foot if you cross the road or use exit M6. Being in the city center also means food, groceries, and coffee are close.
