Nagahiro Hotel

The room was a pleasant surprise after the unpleasant entrance and corridors. We had room 607, which was spacious and quite nice, though dirty in a few spots. The glass-walled bathroom constantly smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Maybe it drifted in from a nearby room where someone was smoking against the rules. The third-floor service desk staff were nice and professional. Getting to reception on the third floor means taking a filthy elevator, and the dirty carpets give the entrance and hallways a nasty smell. The hotel entrance itself looks like an abandoned business. The free laundry was an odd setup: the dryer vents into its own closet instead of a proper vent, mostly recirculating damp exhaust. Our clothes hardly dried unless we left the closet door open.

We barely saw any other guests during our week there, and the air conditioning worked well. The huge room and bed were a welcome change after weeks of tiny rooms in Japan and then South Korea. The free laundry was fantastic too. But the walls were so thin we could hear conversations, people throwing up, and people having sex. The mini fridge was running but not cold, so the food we bought on the first night spoiled. The shower head holder was broken: with much water pressure, water sprayed everywhere, and when we turned it off, the shower head would fall loudly to the floor. There were some really good things here, but other parts left a lot to be desired.

We stayed six days and enjoyed it a lot. The location is handy, with the red, green, and yellow lines nearby and Taipei Main Station close by. The room was great: a huge, comfortable, clean bed, strong AC, and a hot water heater. The Japanese WC and bathtub were nice and clean. Service was done very well each day. Full stars from us.

Our room faced the main road and had a nice rustic view. Check-in was quick, and the room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. For what we paid, we got a big bathroom and a huge king-size bed. The hotel is centrally located between three different MRT lines. We enjoyed staying here and would book again on our next Taiwan trip.
