Newful Hotel

For about TWD 4,000 a night, I was really disappointed. There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby as soon as I walked in, and it was worse in the room. Dust, stained carpet, and visible black mold in the bathroom made the room shockingly dirty. The curtains and corners looked like they hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. This felt like poor hygiene, not just an old hotel. I ended up tiptoeing around both the room and bathroom because everything felt unclean. The mold worried me, and I started feeling unwell, sneezing constantly and getting a headache, possibly from the exposure. The staff were polite and friendly, typical Taiwanese hospitality, so no complaint there. But we spend our stay in the room, and that’s where this place failed. At this price, basic cleanliness is the minimum, and they didn’t deliver. I honestly don’t understand the decent ratings.

For a long stay at an affordable price, I’d recommend this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful, and they make you feel welcome. It’s also well placed for reaching popular attractions, restaurants, convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Watsons, and plenty of other places of interest. Comfortable and convenient.

April 16-22 stay. I really liked the rest area, where the hot and cold drinks and biscuits are all free.

Maybe we got a particular room type, but our rooms were tiny and had no ventilation. Humidity from the bathroom caused mold problems, and we smelled it as soon as we entered. There was still a lot of black mold under the sink. It got so bad that for the first time, I left and booked another hotel.
