The pictures on the website made the beds look very clean, but after viewing the place I felt the rooms and beds for rent didn't match those photos, which is why I decided against living at banana living. The interior looked quite worn, and there was a strong bad smell throughout the building. In the mixed dorm, the air felt very moist and foul, and I could see orange dark stains on the mattresses. I haven't lived in this area, so it's hard for me to give a fair review. I was considering a bed in the mixed dorm because it was near my school, and I plan to stay in Taiwan longer. I thought banana living might save me time and money due to its location and rent. The staff member who showed me around was polite, though I personally didn't think her flip flops and adidas shorts suited someone representing the place.

I stayed in the 18-person dorm and found the ventilation disappointing. Taipei is humid and the weather keeps changing, so the damp smell from 18 people could get overpowering. The beds were comfortable, with power outlets, a private light, and a curtain. Breakfast was okay, and staff were reasonably friendly.

The only real downside was the poor sound insulation. Our private room for two was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and towels. They arranged an affordable airport pickup shuttle, and the staff were nice. The washing machines were cheap at 30NT$ per wash, and they provide everything else a traveler needs.

I rented from the landlords for a little over a month, and dealing with them was a pleasure. When my stay length changed, they were incredibly accommodating. The location is great, near the heart of Taipei City, the facilities are nice, and I had excellent roommates. Couldn't ask for more.

The spaces are small for two or three people, but the hosts are very helpful and accommodating. I looked forward to the free breakfast each day. It was simple, just a banana, bread, and a few bread fillings, but still something I enjoyed.
