Silk Valley SPA Resort

My family and I have been coming here for nearly a decade for the homemade chocolate, set meals, relaxing atmosphere, and the place's unique mom-and-pop feel. It's tucked into the mountains beside a stream, and while getting there can be a bit difficult, the trip is truly worth it. Unlike many places in Taipei, it's not crowded. One of my favorite places in Taipei, a real hidden gem.

A lovely breakfast came as several small plates: salad, eggs, bread, soup, chocolate, and tea or juice. It wasn't amazing, but I appreciated it. We didn't eat at the restaurant otherwise. The host showed us around the whole place, spoke very good English, and checked whether we needed anything. Set in the middle of the forest, it's so quiet you can hear only nature. Our room was beautiful, all wood, and very clean. The spacious spa has big windows that make you feel connected to nature while bathing. I'd recommend it if you want to spend a few hours or days away from the city and properly relax.

I've been coming back every year with my parent since discovering this hidden gem years ago. The food is fine dining, and the prices match. You can hear the rushing river, birds, and leaves, and that music of nature is what makes the place for me. It's my favorite restaurant in all Taipei. The service is sincere and down to earth, but could be brought up to fine-dining professionalism. Servers could introduce the delicate dishes with the same detail and passion that went into cooking them. For now, it still feels like a mom-and-pop store, which is fine, but more attentive presentation would take the experience further. Highly recommended for the food and nature.

Dining beside the river, with fresh air and the sounds of nature, made the meal feel special. The food, service, setting, and seating were all amazing. Each dish was beautifully prepared and presented by the chef. I can't wait to eat there again!
