Next Taipei Hostel-Main Station

A couple has a nice amount of space here, with a clean room and comfortable bed. The location is convenient, very close to Taipei Main Station. Breakfast was okay, though there’s definitely better food outside. The complimentary toast available all day was handy for a snack. They provide free water bottles, toothbrush and paste, cotton buds, a shower cap, and plenty of bath soap and shampoo. The main annoyance was the free Wi-Fi: it was extremely slow, and reception in our room was so poor it was barely usable. We relied on our SIM card most of the time. The walls and door let in some thumps and chatter from outside, but it wasn't too bad.

The rooms are small by Asian standards, as expected, but they were clean. One room lost power, so we had to move to another. I’d stay here again because the place is good, but eat somewhere else. Taipei has lots of great food, and the breakfast here really isn't worth buying. My wife, her family, and I all agreed it was poor in both quality and taste.

I had a comfortable double bed for my two-night stay, and the room was well insulated. The air conditioning worked well, breakfast was good, and the free laundry was a great perk. It had what I needed to recharge before my next adventure, with a good location close to the subway. I’ll definitely stay again.

The location was good and the room clean, but we could hear loud voices from the next room. The staff weren't friendly, either. Breakfast was a vegetarian buffet, which we hadn't been told about, and there was no meat. The food was already cold, and even the fries we thought might save the meal were limp, with no reheating after they went out. Don't expect a view. From our room we could only see the hotel's old air conditioners and windows. Still, I recommend it if you're after a clean, budget place.
