The facilities made it easy to relax between dips, with two hot pools, a cold pool, a dry sauna, a cooling room, showers, and a place to sit and rest. Most of the other visitors were young locals, which was fine with me. Shan-Yue Hot Spring Hotel was a comfortable place to warm up and unwind in Taiwan’s cold weather.

It was quiet and relaxing when we visited, with only a few people around. We went mainly to enjoy the hot spring, and it was just right for the cold weather. A really pleasant, laid-back experience, and well worth a visit.

Breakfast had very little choice, and the room was quite old. There was no heater, and neither the basin nor the shower had working hot water. Still, it was cheap and felt like good value for the money. The hotel is very close to Xin Beitou MRT.

The staff were kind, helpful, and polite, apart from the woman at checkout on the morning of September 27th, 2025, who was very rude. The hotel was quiet, the room was clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Having an onsen in the room was lovely, and breakfast was decent for what you pay at a low-cost hotel.

We spent Friday from 12pm to 2pm at the public hot spring bath, two women, paying nyd500 each. The place is worn and run down, with lots of steps and puddles everywhere. The toiletries are basic, and the showers and hair dryers work, though they're old. The milky sulphur hot spring was the best part, especially the outdoor bath we really liked. The sauna and steam room worked too, but neither was anything grand.
