Sunny Hotel Plus

It's an accessible spot, just a short walk from Taipei Main Station and Ximending Market. The room felt cramped with four people, though, so it works if all you need is somewhere to sleep. The Wi-Fi wasn't stable, and they don't provide disposable slippers or toiletries.

The best part was the location. The rooms were old and badly in need of renovation, and they didn't look like the photos, which felt like bait and switch. Towels and sheets were stained, and there was hair all over the floors. Breakfast was awful, just mush with no drinks. There are much better choices nearby. I had beef noodle and other Taiwanese breakfasts that helped me forget the room. They didn't even have ice when I asked. If I took this family trip again, I'd try somewhere else.

The city highway and buildings made for a great view. The hotel is worth the price overall, though the internet was kind of slow during our visit. It's near the train station for the blue line, HSR, and airport train, as well as night markets. Booking online may get you a discount.

The room was small, but the beds were fine and the staff were nice. You don't hear street noise at all, though you can hear everything from the neighbors.
