Taipei Garden Hotel

The location made sightseeing easy, with Lungshan Temple, CKS Memorial Hall, and Ximending night market nearby, plus a metro station a short walk away. I stayed six nights and was so relieved by how spotless the room, bedding and washroom were. I'm usually particular about cleanliness, so the daily housekeeping and fresh towels were a big plus. There was even a great coffee machine in the room. It made for a comfortable, relaxing stay that met my expectations. I'm really glad I chose this place.

Taipei Garden Hotel was a quiet place to come back to after a day in the city, while still being convenient for public transport. The staff were warm, professional and attentive, helping with directions and arranging transport. The rooms were spacious, modern and very clean, with an excellent bed and soundproofing that made for a restful night. The facilities were well maintained, and the atmosphere felt premium without being too much. I found the stay comfortable and convenient, with good value. I'd definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Taipei.

Housekeeping kept the room spotless and neat, and the kids enjoyed the tub. Still, I wouldn't suggest the Quadruple room for anyone traveling with an elderly person. The tub and shower share one space, with a step up and a glass panel to keep water off the rest of the bathroom floor. Getting in and out could be dangerous for an older guest. I would've preferred a separate shower and bathtub. They give you two plastic bags to pick up snacks from the cafe beside the hotel. Breakfast was decent, but they were strict about the ending time and would remind us at 9.45am that it was finishing while hurrying to collect our things. With kids, late mornings can happen, especially after night markets, so some flexibility would've helped. Ximending is quite a walk, and the station is at least a 10minutes stroll away. With young kids, I wouldn't book here. The nearest laundromat is diagonally across from the building opposite Carrefour. Quite a lot of Japanese and Korean guests were staying there too, which was no issue.

The children’s snack bar was the highlight for my kids, who could take snacks freely and had a really memorable time. Carrefour and McDonald’s are nearby, the breakfast spread was good with a decent variety, and the small lobby was functional enough. The room looked modern and high-tech, and an AI voice welcomed us and said it could control the lights and air conditioning. In practice, the voice controls didn't work as promised. The air conditioning was fixed at 21°C, with no way to change it by voice or manually. When the outdoor weather turned colder, the room dropped to 19-20°C for the last two nights. Reception said nothing could be done except lower the fan speed, which I'd already tried. It was hard to rest comfortably at around 20°C. My children's room was fixed at 24°C, but at least that felt more comfortable. The curtains had just two settings, fully open or fully closed. I'd give the hotel 5 stars if guests could adjust the air conditioning temperature.
