The Denizen

After two months at The Denizen, I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Taipei. I’m often in the city for months at a time, and before finding it I kept moving between hotels. Many Taipei hotels, even five-star places like the Mandarin Oriental, have poor soundproofing and mediocre service. The Denizen feels like a luxury condo, built with high-quality materials. There are no thin walls or flimsy doors, and each unit is a carefully designed studio apartment. What makes the biggest difference is the management team. Everyone is professional, friendly, and attentive, and they make you feel at home with requests both big and small. I’ve lived in top luxury condos and full-service apartments in L.A., but I’ve never felt better looked after. I’ll be back again and again!

Denizen feels like home because of the team. Ivy is professional, steady, and genuinely caring. Joyce has seemingly endless energy: she makes coffee, books hotels, gets taxis, and checks on you in Guguan. Chien is warm and kind, the sort of person who makes you feel at home right away. Jeffery goes the extra mile, even taking time to teach me traditions like burning money on Ghost Day. They make everyday life here better, not just handle their jobs. This is the best service I’ve ever had. Absolute winners.

The Denizen felt like a comfortable, welcoming base for our recent stay in Taipei, and the price was reasonable for staying longer. Our studio was modern and spotless, with plenty of storage and everything we needed, including a washer and dryer. The building was peaceful, and the rooftop and ground-floor patios were nice places to sit for a while. Free coffee and snacks were a lovely extra. The staff were warm and very helpful. We also had groceries, a pharmacy, convenience stores and restaurants just a few blocks away, with the MRT a short walk from the building.

The staff made Denizen feel like home. They were attentive, friendly, quick to answer questions, and happy to help with requests, from calling a taxi to bringing coffee up to our room. The apartment itself was clean and modern but still had a homey feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows brought in lots of daylight, and having a full kitchen and laundry in the unit was really convenient. We had a fantastic stay, and it’s a great place to call home for a short visit to Taipei.
