Tokyo International Hotel

Kaori, the owner, is a very sweet woman, and you can see how much pride she takes in the place. The staff made me feel like a visiting dignitary. The lobby and room were nicely furnished and spotless, and the complimentary breakfast was an unexpected buffet feast with lots of Asian food. I spent six days in Taipei, and staying at Tokyo International was one of the highlights. If I come back, this will be my go-to hotel.

The shower was the one thing that kept this from being a five-star room for me: the shower head kept sliding down. Water pressure was good and the water stayed hot, though the tub is small, my husband, as a typical American customer, couldn't fit in it comfortably lol. Otherwise, we were happy we chose this place. The room was immaculate, and the staff were friendly, professional, accommodating, and spoke English well. The Japanese and Chinese breakfast was amazing. The location was perfect, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and the mall within walking distance. I'd recommend it for leisure or business, and we'd stay again.

The staff are outstandingly friendly and thoughtful. For my birthday, they helped present a cake and candle at breakfast and gave me snacks and drinks. Thank you so much. The hotel is small and pleasant, and I'd recommend it at a good rate. It's in the Zhongshan district, near Zhongshan station and not too far from Taipei main station. It's an older, low-rise place, so don't expect a view, and street-facing rooms may be noisy. Our room, 510, was bright and large, with a nice bathroom, though the floor plan showed that some rooms are smaller. There was an old hotel room smell. Breakfast is basic but adequate, and they can make eggs to order. If you want a nice buffet, skip breakfast here.

The staff went out of their way to help and make sure we had what we needed. The hotel is centrally located near Taipei Station, and our room was spacious, very clean, and had an updated bathroom. It was the best hotel of our whole trip across Asia. My only suggestion is better WiFi, since the connection could be spotty at times.
