The rooms are clean, spacious, and good for the price. Staff were very helpful, and breakfast was nice, though the selection leaned more toward Asian tastes than Western ones. The surrounding area is the drawback. It’s run-down and definitely a red-light district. Still, temples, a nicely restored old area, the metro, shopping streets, and night markets are close by. It’s also about a 20-minute walk to the more modern tourist shopping area.

We got a larger room with two king beds and plenty of floor space. The main drawback was the more open toilet setup, with only curtains for privacy, and the pillows felt flat. The location is very convenient, right in the middle of a night market. It’s around a five-minute slow walk to Longshan Temple station on the blue line, and there are several handy stalls nearby for everyday essentials.

The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and street food vendors, especially at night, and there’s a convenience store next door. It’s less than a 10-minute walk from the train station. The room felt modern and had a bathtub, shower, safe, and mini-fridge. The bed was on the firm, traditional side. Staff were friendly and spoke some English. Breakfast costs extra, but you can buy it there.

I stayed from December 28 to December 29, 2025, and it was a very unpleasant visit. After 11 PM on check-in night, the fire alarm sounded and everyone had to evacuate to the lobby. Staff later said there was no problem and sent us back upstairs, but about 30 minutes later the alarm went off again and we had to leave our rooms a second time. The fire department eventually arrived and confirmed there was no issue. What made the situation especially stressful was how poorly it was handled. Lobby staff just kept telling people to return to their rooms, without giving a proper explanation. They communicated only in Chinese, with no English support. There were visible cracks in the building, which also made me worry about safety. The hotel is next to a night market, and strong food smells, especially stinky tofu, hung in the air all night. With the constant noise, sleeping was difficult. Even a free stay wouldn’t make me choose this hotel again.

There’s plenty of food within walking distance, and a few night markets are connected to the area. We stayed on level 2, which was quiet. Longshan Temple is the nearest MRT station and not too far away. There’s a nice massage place just opposite the station. The room was quite large compared with other hotels, and breakfast was adequate. Cars can’t really get around from about 4 PM, when the night market starts setting up. The market opens daily, though the carts’ hours depend on the weather. We stayed five nights and asked for daily housekeeping, but the cleaning wasn’t done properly. They didn’t refill the shampoo, and the floor wasn’t swept.
