About this property
Rainbow Resort is sited on over 33, 000m2 of verdant greenery, many visitors have fallen in love with the European red-brick buildings and the wholesome natural open-air hot spring baths. The hot spring at Rainbow Resort comes from 1460m below the ground. The waters are therefore better and purer than other nearby hot springs just a few hundred meters down. To keep the hot spring's bore hole clear, each week the resort opens the geothermal well valves beside the open air baths in the early morning or afternoon. The hot spring waters and steam fountains into the air creating shimmering rainbows across the sky. This became known as the Rainbow Spring and is an attraction unique to Chihben hot spring district. This hotel is attached with modern rooms which are fitted with free Wifi, fridge and tea&coffee maker. Outdoor pool, restaurant, meeting facilities and car parking are also available.

The location is great, and the thermal aquifer is perfect. The amenities are a little dated, though they still work. Our room smelled like sewage, not sulphur, which would have been obvious. Also, watch out for insects: we got bitten in the bed. See the photo. Room 207, the bed closer to the door.

We only planned to stay one night, then ended up adding three more. The big hot spring pools were wonderful, and the kids had a great time. You can cook food in the hot spring water, with space set aside for it, and it tastes so good. The hotel staff were really friendly and upgraded our room for the basic price. We paid only 2,400 NTD for a double kind room with breakfast for two adults and two kids. Such a lovely place in nature to keep in mind for holidays. Totally recommended!

The hot springs have lovely views, good hot temperatures, and enough space that we haven't felt crowded. The facilities are old, but clean and maintained well enough. We've stayed three times for two nights each, and enjoyed every visit. A nice getaway for the price.

The hot tub and cold pools were refreshing and nice. Breakfast was standard Taiwanese fare. The refrigerator in our room didn't work, and they neither fixed nor replaced it. We weren't offered any discount.
