Century Hotel

There’s a lot to do: my mom and I tried the free mochi-making with sweet rice and millet, and made bracelets, and I also gave archery a try. The nearby Zhiben national park is nice for hiking. We had a clean room, plenty of complimentary breakfast choices, two hot spring pools, and a swimming pool. The shower hot water was the one issue. I had to run it for a few seconds, turn it off, and repeat that a few times before the temperature gradually rose. Still, it was a good experience.

Several parts of the lobby had their lights switched off right at 10:00 pm. The room smelled moldy, and the air conditioner wouldn’t cool it down. The ceiling also felt low for tall people. There was no shampoo or bar soap, and when I asked, the attendant insisted the liquid detergent on the shower wall was for everything. The hot water pot had thick white calcified buildup inside. Most of the attendants had some degree of an attitude problem.

The staff were nice and the hotel itself was quite good. In winter, at least, the room temperature couldn’t be set below 22 degrees Celsius, so we ended up sleeping without bedsheets. We still slept well. Maybe it would be better in summer?

The bellhop was a huge help, kudos to him. I liked the room, especially the bathtub and amenities. Breakfast was great too, with plenty of tasty options.
