The spacious, modern rooms smelled clean and fresh, and the price felt very fair for the quality. During my holiday in Taiwan, this was my favorite place to stay. There was also a friendly woman selling all sorts of fresh fruit across from the building. I’d happily stay here again.

Check-in needs to happen before 6 pm, while the coffee shop is still open. After that the hotel is unmanned at night, so you’ll use a key to get in. We didn’t find that a problem, just something to know ahead of time. The place has a fun, modern feel, and our room was lovely. It sits above a nice coffee shop, where you can choose a drink with the tasty set-menu breakfast. We enjoyed it.

We stayed two nights as a group of seven and had a great time. The rooms were clean, spacious, and got plenty of natural light. Staff were friendly and helped us arrange things for our luggage when we arrived early. Breakfast was really tasty, and the coffee made in-house was good too.

The cats were adorable and playful, and the food went down a treat. My mum quickly finished the salted egg lava toast, and the Irish coffee had a lovely orange aroma from the freshly grated peel. The owner was friendly and talked us through the desserts baked on the spot. There’s a good range of coffee, too. If you’re around Taitung City, it’s a nice place to stop for a relaxed tea break :D

For me, this is the best coffee outside Australia, full stop. I haven’t found coffee this good in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, or Kyoto. If you’re passing through Taitung, please support this lovely little coffee shop and inn :)
