Yilan 1955 B&B Second Branch

We spent one night and two days enjoying the rooms, and it was fantastic! The themed rooms each had their own look, and the kids had a blast playing in them. Breakfast can be ordered, and when we had questions, the staff explained everything clearly. Definitely worth a visit.

The kids loved the forceful shower spray, even though the showerhead couldn't be adjusted. The bathroom corners had mold, dust, and rust, and there was visible mold on the walls; the bedside table was dusty too. The room itself was reasonably comfortable, and the owner was friendly. Everything runs on a self-service basis, including sorting the trash. They provide hot water, tea bags, coffee, and milk tea, but no meals. The bunk beds were uneven in temperature, with a warm upper bunk and a very cold lower one. Getting in and out of the bottom bunk was awkward, and I hit my head hard and painfully three times. My child bruised their feet going up the stairs, and the ball pit balls were dirty. Still, the kids had a lot of fun.

The kids had a great time in the ball pit, and the slide was quite high. I did worry about safety, though, since many corners had no protective strips and a careless child could get hurt. The upper bunk stayed very hot even with the fan and air conditioning, as the cool air didn't reach it. Soundproofing was only so-so, and water pipes on the balcony occasionally startled me while I was in the ball pit. Cleanliness was acceptable. I wasn't sure whether breakfast came with the stay, though staff said delivery was available.

The downsides: sound carries, so kids jumping around can disturb other guests, and parking is a bit inconvenient, though that seems normal. On the plus side, it was peaceful with no nearby traffic noise, and there are walking paths close by. The room setup was a huge hit with the kids, who played nonstop. The manager gave clear instructions and was helpful when we needed something.
