The made-to-order breakfast was among the best I've had in Taiwan. The sandwich and vegetables were incredibly delicious, and vegetarian or vegan adjustments were possible. It takes a little time since it's freshly made. Portions are sensible and help avoid waste, though hungrier guests might appreciate an option for a little extra. Service was excellent throughout. The staff stored our luggage a day ahead because we'd stayed on the other side of the lake the previous night, then let us check in 1-2 hours early once our room was ready. They also proactively pointed out discount vouchers clearly displayed at the front desk. The hotel was spotless and well located near the bus station, not too far from downtown or the boat terminal. Soundproofing was excellent, and we couldn't hear road noise. Our spacious room had a charming Colonial Japanese style, including a traditional tea seating area, and was well equipped. The bed was comfortable and on the softer side, especially by Taiwanese standards. We rated the stay 9.5/10: service 10/10, location 9/10, breakfast 9/10, cleanliness 10/10, room and facilities 9/10, and value for money 9/10. It cost $3,017 in October. Highly recommended for the spotless rooms, convenient location, fresh breakfast, and attentive service.
