Getting around is easy: Doris B&B is about a five-minute walk from ShuiShe Visitors Centre, where you can catch the bus to and from Taichung. The guesthouse manager warned us that Uber can be hard to get, though we got lucky by booking ahead. The quoted advance booking price is only an estimate, though, and we were charged about 500 NTD more. The B&B is pet-friendly, with seven very cute resident cats. Some wander in and out and wait at the door for someone to open it, haha. The managers were very friendly and made our stay at Doris B&B superb. Breakfast was delicious, served on cat-themed plates and cups, and our room looked just like the photos on the booking sites. Recommended while visiting Sun Moon Lake.

The staff were very flexible when I forgot to tell them I was bringing a dog, and they speak English. The facilities are modern and clean, and breakfast is included and homemade. Fantastic service. I'll definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

The cats around the place were so cute and made the stay even better. The rooms were spacious and nice, although the bathroom door had a big gap at the top. It seemed odd to have a door if sound and steam could still get out. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and went above and beyond. We arrived in Shuishe early and, without any advance notice, they let us check in early. She also helped heat up our 7/11 food and packed takeaway breakfast for us when we had to leave early the next morning. We loved our stay at Doris Home!! 😍

The little touches made the place feel like home, and the staff and cats were friendly. Breakfast included local fruit that tasted much sweeter and more flavourful than the fruit I buy in Canada. We stayed in the bubble room, which was great after a long day of hiking. I finally got a restful night's sleep since arriving in Asia. I'd definitely stay here again on another visit to sun moon lake.
