Banana Farm Hostel

A lovely spot to relax if you enjoy being out in nature. Thomas and Richard in the kitchen were very kind, and we had great food at both dinner and breakfast. If you take the farm tour, you get a beautiful walk through the forests to the little river pool.

The farm itself is a lovely idea, and there's a great view of Mt Meru. The food from the chef was delicious, and laundry costs less than at other places. Staff are very friendly, though things move pole pole here, as they often do in Tanzania. Since receipts are handwritten, check each item on the list. It's a great eco lodge among the banana trees.

The campfire conversations with other travelers were a lovely extra, and the place has real eco vibes without preaching at you. I also loved the free coffee roasting session and picking fruit right from the trees. Breakfast straight from the garden was unreal: fresh juice, pancakes, eggs, and milk fresh from the cows. I arrived stressed and left relaxed. Highly recommend, 10/10 🔥

We felt so welcome here. The staff treated us amazingly, and our rooms were clean and well cared for. There's loads of space and plenty of different areas, including an outdoor cinema, a painting area, coffee and banana plantations, an animal zone where you can pet cows, and access to a beautiful hiking trail.
