Primeland Hotel

Breakfast had a good mix of sweet and savory buffet items, including pancakes, toast, beans, vegetables, and stir-fry, along with fruit and eggs made to order. We also ate at the hotel restaurant one evening. The food was excellent, but it took a long time, so with a small kitchen I’d order well ahead, especially for a bigger group. My family and I stayed two nights on the way to Nairobi and were very happy. The rooms were small but had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable, and everything was clean and in excellent condition. The showers took a little figuring out, but then worked very well, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. The hotel sits on a small plot just off Sokoine Rd, in a lively mixed area with homes, local shops along the main road, and workshops nearby. There’s some noise, though the windows blocked most of it at night. Staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly. I find the racism accusation in another recent review hard to believe. I was the only white guest most of the time, and my Black husband, our Brown children, and the other guests were treated very respectfully. Perhaps that reviewer was refused pool and bar access because they weren’t a hotel guest and those areas were reserved for guests, but certainly not only white guests. I can definitely recommend Primeland Hotel to anyone spending a few days in Moshi.

The whole place was suited to rest and relaxation, and by the time our group was ready to leave after five nights, we felt like family. We were there to enjoy some of Tanzania’s sights and experiences, and the staff were amazing, attentive to our needs and going above and beyond to make us comfortable. The food was tasty, nicely presented, and offered plenty of variety. Asante sana.

The gated property felt secure, and the location was a good distance from the town center. We enjoyed our stay, with helpful service and good food.

The breakfast spread made my stay especially memorable, with such good food options and a chef who clearly knew their way around the kitchen. It’s a beautiful place, and the staff were really friendly. I particularly enjoyed the night swims. They felt very secure because security was always walking around to make sure everyone was safe.
