Ilboru Safari lodge

We stayed a few nights at Ilboru Safari Lodge before and after our safari, and it was a great experience. The pool area was just right for relaxing, with a nice bar where we could get drinks. Staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home straight away. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, with hot showers. Food was very good, and everything felt well organized, with a relaxing atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Arusha.

The lodge is a little off the beaten track, but getting there is fine by taxi or your own car. It has a lovely pool area with a bar, plus its own restaurant serving à la carte or menu options. The staff are very friendly. If you like, reception can arrange a trip into town with a hotel guide. Enjoy!

The garden is beautiful, and the lodges themselves are so nice. We stayed several nights before and after our safari. The place is a bit isolated and can be hard to reach, but being away from a big road is mostly a plus. One night, though, dogs were barking loudly somewhere outside. It didn't spoil our stay. I saw comments about the damp and chilly nights. We visited in July, and that seemed like Tanzania's climate to me, so I'm not sure what hotels could do about it. Towels didn't always feel dry and cozy, which wasn't very comfortable, but you kind of have to accept that when visiting Africa. Don't forget your winter pajamas like I did! We didn't get to try the pool, though the area looked nice. The staff were so friendly, Mary is just love, love, love, and the restaurant guys did a great job. After a long day of adventure, my room at Ilboru Safari Lodge was a comfortable, spacious retreat, and it was very well maintained. The staff were friendly and attentive, and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Every meal, from breakfast through lunch and dinner, was delicious, flavorful, and freshly prepared. I had an incredible, relaxing stay and would highly recommend the lodge. I'll definitely return on my next visit!
