The rooms are nice, but customer service around drinks and recreation was poor. At 11pm tonight, I stood at the counter and ordered a beer. The bar attendants said they could serve it, but closing time was coming and I might not finish before midnight, since they don’t sell after 12am. If you want a place to drink with family, colleagues, or friends, this isn’t a good choice. At 11pm you may be turned away regardless of how much you’ve spent.

The views of Mount Meru were a lovely part of my stay at Merves Hotel near Phillips in Arusha. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the hotel was well maintained. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout. I was especially impressed by how affordable it was for the comfort and quality. It’s a welcoming place to relax, in a convenient location. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Arusha.

The beds were good, but I had mixed feelings about the rooms: the walls need renovating and the bathrooms weren’t well cared for. The staff were nice and the food was good, though breakfast could be better. We also saw some cute little mice running around. They weren’t much of a nuisance, but they could put many people off and might be a source of disease.

I’ve stayed in a dozen hotels across East Africa, and this is one of my best stays in Arusha, Tanzania. Erick and the rest of the staff were friendly and ready to help whenever I needed anything. Thanks so much. I highly recommend Merves.

The place was quiet and clean, and the whole team was friendly. The receptionists were attentive too. Maybe they were giving me special attention, but I didn’t have anything extra compared with other customers, so I believe they treat everyone the same. The hotel is amazing. Thank you, keep it up.
