Ole Serai Luxury Camp Hotel

Giraffes walked right up to the tents, and I really enjoyed my stay. Chef Freddi made great food too.

We fell asleep to the sounds of nature, with a hippo outside the tent at night and zebra and elephants in view during sundowners. Idyllic. The staff were friendly and attentive without hovering, just there when needed, and the food was delicious. The tents were top notch, with hot water and power all day. A bit of luxury in the middle of Serengeti. Stop thinking, book it and go!

The camp brought us close to nature, with hippos and zebras grazing nearby and lions roaring at night, while still making sure we felt safe and cared for. We loved our three nights at Ole Serai. It was our first African safari trip, and we’d been looking forward to camping in Serengeti. Ole Serai didn’t disappoint. The spacious tent had a roomy bathroom and shower, and hot water was never an issue, even with morning and afternoon showers. The bed was extremely comfortable, which is unusual for me, and I slept soundly each night. Meals were delicious, with plenty of choices at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dining staff were excellent and let us choose breakfast and dinner times, while we took lunch on the go. The staff were the highlight, especially Bennett, Masey, and Gift. Everyone was thoughtful and friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and were enjoying ourselves. It was our first Serengeti trip, but definitely not our last. We’ll be back to Ole Serai!

I especially loved the early morning view from bed, looking out over the Savannah. Rooms along the bottom of the hill feel more secluded and have better views, if you can get one. Everything felt top notch, from the sumptuous tented rooms to the food and the attentive staff. A special thank-you to Gift, our waiter and assistant, who was incredibly helpful and attentive.
