Stone Town is about 20 minutes away, and a taxi costs around 10,000-15,000 shillings. The views from the rooms are lovely, with a wide stretch of coastline visible from the deck that reaches over the beach, and there’s a big pool too. But meals at the hotel restaurant cost a lot compared with places in Stone Town, and service is slow. I’d stick to the pizza or grilled dishes, though those were pretty mediocre as well. Prices here seem negotiable.

The staff were generous and really friendly, and my wife and I had a peaceful, pleasant stay. It’s a beautiful, quiet place that isn’t too far from town when you want to go out. I’ll definitely come back.

I’d recommend this hotel for its privacy and service. The food was good, and it brought out Zanzibar’s culture and authenticity alongside some of its own specialties.
