Golden Tulip Zanzibar Resort

The view was lovely, a real highlight, and breakfast was decent, though it could use more variety. The rooms are quite old and could use renovation. When I went into mine I felt a little uncomfortable, though I may just have been tired from traveling. The next morning I noticed marks on my feet. I asked to move rooms, but the hotel was full, and since I was only there for one night, I stayed put. I felt unwell for a few days afterward, though I can’t say whether it was connected.

The buffet breakfast was the best part, especially with that amazing ocean view. The rooms were clean, and they sprayed for mosquitoes in the evening, a nice touch. There’s no alcohol served, but you can bring your own since the rooms have a fridge. Jacky was patient and went out of her way to sort out a misunderstanding about the city tax. I’d definitely visit again 👌🏾

The atmosphere and service were both top-notch, and the whole visit felt authentic and memorable. An absolute gem. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

Most of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and they made my stay pleasant. The property itself is nice. My experience with the woman who seemed to be the manager was different: she came across as rude and less approachable than the rest of the team, which left a negative impression, especially given how helpful everyone else was. Breakfast felt just okay rather than satisfying, with few choices and quality that didn’t seem worthy of a hotel in this category. It’s a decent place with great staff, apart from that one experience, but management’s attitude and the breakfast could improve.
