The quiet beach was a real highlight. Nobody was trying to sell us things like in Paje, so we could relax and enjoy the surroundings, and felt at ease the whole time. The hotel is relatively close to Paje: we took a nearby daladala that took about 10 minutes, and walking back from the beach took around 40. At the end of the day, locals often played football along the beach, and it was lovely to watch. Everyone was friendly. The owners were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had what we needed. Breakfast was excellent each day, with fruit, eggs, a different special dish, fresh juice, and coffee or tea. We also had dinner there, and the fresh fish was perfectly cooked. The fried coconut fish was one of the best dishes we’ve had since arriving in Tanzania. We had a wonderful, peaceful, authentic stay and would highly recommend it.

The meals were a treat throughout our 11 nights. Breakfast came in three courses: fruit, then meze or waffles or pancakes, followed by eggs and toast. The lunch and dinner menu covered local and Western dishes, and everything we tried was very good, especially the fish, seafood, and wali maharage. We also got unlimited tea and coffee during the day, cakes each afternoon, and a free boat snorkeling trip. Pia and Hasim welcomed us with a drink and cake when we arrived, and even gave us leaving gifts at the end of our stay. They and their excellent staff were attentive to guests throughout. The six-bedroom hotel is in a great spot, with direct access to a quiet beach of soft white sand, while lively Paje is a short distance away. Our clean, beautifully decorated two-bedroom suite had a private balcony and sea view over the pool and beach.

We hardly went on excursions because the hotel was so comfortable and peaceful, and the food was great with generous portions. The hosts and staff were kind, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile. There’s a lovely beach atmosphere, plus a complimentary boat and snorkeling trip with other guests. It really felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend, 11/10!

The owner couple made the stay especially memorable. They were kind, patient, and warm, and whenever I needed help or had a question, they were ready to assist. I felt they really wanted guests to be comfortable and happy. The beach is beautiful, clean, and peaceful, with stunning ocean colors. I loved walking along the shore, relaxing, and watching the sunset. The calm atmosphere made it easy to slow down and enjoy island life in Zanzibar. Meals were fresh, carefully prepared, and delicious, and dining by the sea made them even better. I’d recommend The African Paradise Hotel to anyone looking for a lovely beach, good food, and friendly hosts. Thanks for making my trip even more special!

The hotel’s small size made it easy to feel familiar with the owners and staff, who made us feel welcome at every turn. Rooms were cleaned daily, very clean, and had AC and very good WiFi. The beach feels like it’s all yours, though Paje is an easy walk or bus or tuk tuk ride away if you want more restaurants and Cafés. There’s plenty to do there, but staying at the hotel for days would be just as easy. They can arrange activities and provide games, snorkeling gear, and balls. Breakfast is generous, served across three plates, and there’s unlimited tea and coffee plus an afternoon drink and snack. In calm Bwejuu, it’s a lovely place to relax for a few days. Just book it, you won’t regret it.
