The location is a plus: right by the beach, in a quiet, relaxed area that’s less touristy than nearby Paje, but still has a few places to eat, lounge, or get a drink. We stayed four nights, though, and the basics were a struggle. Staff didn’t plan to change our towels even once, and getting two fresh ones or a cold bottle of water seemed impossible. Breakfast tables weren’t cleaned either. The property is poorly maintained and doesn’t get the care it needs. Staff seemed to prefer sitting on their phones to fixing broken beach chairs, stocking the fridge, or doing the many other needed improvements. From other reviews, we got the impression service might be better when the European owners are around, but that seems pretty rare these days. I wouldn’t take the chance and would definitely avoid it. There are much better places nearby for the same price or less.

The bungalow sits right on the beach, with a small restaurant and lounge area, and I really liked how intimate the place felt. The staff were polite and professional, and the food was so good, fresh from the sea. The one thing that bothered me was the bathroom, which had a curtain instead of a door. If you expect five-star accommodation, this probably isn’t the place for you. For the real Zanzibar experience, though, it’s a good choice.

The crew, all under Capt. Zlatko’s direction, did a great job and helped make the holiday special. Food was fresh and tasty, and the beach was perfect, with sand like flour. It’s a great spot, clean, and you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Many thanks to them all.

The restaurant is in a good spot right on the beach, and the grilled fish was nice. I didn’t stay in the guest house.
