The hotel feels like a ghost town. There was no water in the rooms and no Wi-Fi connection. My room was full of mosquitoes, so I wonder how I'm going to sleep tonight. I wish I could get my money back and go somewhere else. This hotel should be shut down for good or closed for renovations. Until then, I highly recommend finding somewhere else.

That quiet setting is about the only thing going for this place, maybe a good spot for novelists. The location is great, but the fried chicken has no taste, and there’s no reliable network or Wi-Fi. You have to pass messages by word of mouth because the office phone isn’t working. It looks like it was once a nice place, but now everything from the ceilings to the floors feels worn out. I later found out there’s another hotel called Serene. This one is Serene Annex, so avoid this Annex. Sorry.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable, with a good bed, hot shower and proper toilet. It’s affordable, close to the beach, and has a nice relaxed feel. The pool was too dirty to use, though, and breakfast took more than an hour. I needed to leave by nine and was still eating at 9:30.

Getting to the boats for the islands is easy, and it’s a nice place to hide away. I had a great time here a few years ago. The rooms were comfy and right by the beach, and the food was good too. I’m sure they’ve improved since then. Ask for a room with a tub, you’ll thank me later.

The breakfast was what made me shorten my trip. The place needs updating, from the furniture to the old, torn towels and bedding. The beach was so dirty that it couldn’t be used. Decide for yourself.
