Fun Beach Resort Hotel

After a week on safari, we came here to rest. The location is lovely, close to the beach, and having a pool right in front of the room was such a treat. The food was okay, and the bar and restaurant service was really friendly. Hassan, Ismael, Rahel, Yatu (I hope I spelled it right), Zamabu, Revina, Jane, Alyrice, Eliya and Rose were all so sweet and great at their jobs. The Wi-Fi in the rooms was far too unstable. We raised it on our first night of a three-night stay, but management mostly sidestepped the problem instead of helping. For foreign travelers in 2025, reliable Wi-Fi is a basic need. A special thanks to the housekeeping team and to Madam Margaret at reception. Suzanne was really understanding and capable, and I’m sure she’ll become an excellent hotel manager in the future. I’ve stayed at Fun Beach Hotel on four separate trips and spent thousands of dollars there over time, all after it was rebuilt and taken over by new management. The standard has unfortunately slipped with every visit. The facilities and service feel basic for the price, which is charged as if this were a premium stay. More and more, the atmosphere feels transactional. Staff often seem more focused on tips than on real hospitality, and service can feel conditional rather than professional. Communication has also been unacceptable. Messages go unanswered or take a very long time to get a reply, with little courtesy or professionalism. That’s especially disappointing as a returning guest. Loyalty doesn’t seem to count for much, despite the high expectations the hotel set at first. At this point, the place seems to be living on its reputation rather than its performance. Without serious improvements to communication, service standards and the guest experience, I can’t justify returning or recommending it again as I have in the past.

The pool was the highlight for us, and the sea is only a few metres away if you want to swim there. Our room looked great and was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. Amazing!

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I stayed here earlier this year with my family and sadly wouldn’t come back. The rooms were quite large, at least. When we arrived, the senior staff greeted us warmly and respectfully and showed us to our room, which made a good first impression. The general staff were a letdown, though. They could be dismissive, and it felt like we had to beg for things that were part of what we’d paid for. Food took a long time even when the dining area was nearly empty, and staff were rude at times. There’s no phone in the room to place an order, so we had to walk to the kitchen or reception whenever we needed something.
