The New Blue Waves Hotel

A quiet, pretty place close to the beach. The room had a fan, air conditioning and a fridge for keeping your maji biridi cold. Towels were provided, and after we asked, they were changed on day 3. The Wi-Fi was great and the clean pool was wonderful. Sidai, who checked us in, sorted breakfast and looked after us, was fantastic. He’s doing a really great job. Grateful for a lovely stay, I enjoyed every moment.

Sidai at reception was so friendly and helpful, and made the stay even better. The lodge itself was wonderful, with a comfy bed, a nice bathroom, and a working fridge. There was a fan and AC in the room, and the pool area was lovely. Great spot too, just a minute from the beach. I’d recommend it to anyone needing somewhere to stay in Jambiani.

We felt more at home here than anywhere. We spent seven nights at New Waves in August to celebrate my sister’s and my birthdays. It’s a beautiful hotel, and Sadari (Sadi) was a wonderful host. We arrived well after midnight, long past normal check-in, but he arranged our airport transport and was there waiting for us. The room was simple but lovely, with air conditioning and a mosquito net that made it comfortable. The pool was beautiful for relaxing at the end of the day, and breakfast was generous and delicious. I especially appreciated the fruit. The whole team was wonderful and quick to help with anything we needed, including Sadi, Duli, Shakwe and the gate man. I hope I spelled the names right, lol. Thank you all for such a wonderful stay.

New Waves has a lovely pool, a generous and delicious breakfast, and staff who were wonderful throughout our three nights. They were always available and responsive, whether we needed a taxi called or something brought to us. The simple but lovely room had air conditioning and a mosquito net, and the hotel has plenty of potential. There were some practical problems. No housekeeping came during our stay, so sand quickly spread all over the room. The bathroom floods easily and could use basics like a floor mat or squeegee. The kitchenette is just a sink, so it isn’t very functional. There’s also a large window between the kitchenette and bedroom without a curtain, letting sun shine straight onto the bed. We had a power outage for half a day and a water cut at one point. It’s a pleasant hotel, but these improvements would make staying more comfortable.
