We'd only planned a short visit to Karatu, but the attentive staff made us feel at home and we stayed three nights. They arranged an exceptional day trip to Serengeti, and the hotel's food was delicious. Skylark's location is a 10/10, right by the road and close to everything.

I didn't expect this kind of service in Karatu, but the hotel exceeded what I hoped for. It was sparkling clean, the staff were exceptional, and breakfast practically melted in my mouth. It might be the tastiest breakfast I've ever had.

Burgers aren't usually what I expect to remember from Karatu, Tanzania, but the chicken burger at Skylark Hotel's restaurant was legendary. Ilibamba saaana, it became the delicious surprise star of my visit. Yaani, do ya kukosa.

Their masala tea was lovely. The rooms don't have air conditioning or a fan, though, so they aren't suitable for the hot season.
